It’s funny where bikes take us at times, and if it wasn’t for bikes I doubt I’d have met the people I’d met or be about to set off on the journey I’m going on. I’m going to be heading off with a friend of mine, Monet Adams in what she has dubbed the ‘Freedom Machine’ a transit she’s lovingly pimped ready for a few weeks on the road. At this point in time, approximately 30 hours before we head off to get the ferry to our first destination we’ve still got quite a lot to get sorted. I’m not actually 100% on where we are heading exactly and what to expect, but that’s all part of the fun right?
Step 1
The first step on our journey is to Morzine for a few days of riding and letting people know about Spin before heading off to Pila for IXS European Cup #6 – not racing myself, just going with Monet for support, to check out the race and most likely do some work.
Step 2
From Morzine to Pila which is a relatively short distance (I think it would be wise to sort out some maps before we go) By the looks of things there are some pretty sweet tracks there – find out more about the Bike Park here. I’ll be taking as many pictures as possible and online as often as I can whilst away so I’ll make sure to update the blog as often as possible!
Step 3
From Pila to the Three Valleys (subject to change) More than likely to Val d’Isère and this area before the next leg of the journey.
Step 4
From here we will most likely head back to Morzine for a while before heading to Anzere for IXS Swiss Cup #3. In between this we may head to Meribel for The downhill World Cup #7 and I may head to Eurobike while the guys are in Anzere, but this all depends on what happens on the road. Will hopefully be testing a few things on the road, and am also interested in female specific things to test if anyone is interested – please get in touch! I’ve got the bike packed, bag packed and I really hope I’ve got everything! We’re hoping to get some edits done on the road, and I will be blogging at every opportunity about travel, locations, costs, everything and anything! Stoked to be heading off on this trip, definitely an unexpected treat after graduation!
